Stratford, Not Stafford: Mayor Explains Mailer Mix-Up
If you received an absentee ballot application that appeared to have been sent by the town of Stafford, you're not alone.
STRATFORD, CT — If you received an absentee ballot application that appeared to have been sent by the wrong town, you're not alone.
Many Stratford residents were mailed absentee ballot applications with an outside return address from the town of Stafford, according to an email from the office of Mayor Laura Hoydick.
"The Stratford Town Clerk's Office is aware of the situation — the printer contracted by the Secretary of State Denise Merrill's office made the error, and while the outside return address is incorrect, the ballot application is otherwise correct," the email said. "The return address on the postage paid envelope for you to send your absentee ballot application to the Stratford Town Clerk is correct."
