Stratford To Start Yard Waste Collection Early
Yard waste will begin early due to the affects of precautions residents are taking to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford's yard waste collection program will begin March 30 — a week earlier than usual — due to the affects of precautions residents are taking to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, according to an email from the mayor's office.
"I have heard from some town residents who have been practicing social distancing, and have been spending this time at home doing useful things such as yard work," the email from Mayor Laura Hoydick said.
Residents should take note of the following:

- Grass, leaves and shrubbery clippings must be contained in brown Kraft yard waste bags or loosely in cans.
- Branches no larger than 1 inch in diameter and 4 feet in length will be collected if tied in bundles.
- Collection is seasonal and is made every other week on the day after recycling collection.
