Stratford Storm Debris Pickup Expected To Finish This Weekend
As of Wednesday, all bagged debris was collected, but "significant large debris" remained in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — It’s been more than two weeks since Tropical Storm Isaias blew through town, but cleanup of the destruction it left in its wake continues. However, the end is in sight. Debris pickup is expected to be finished during the coming weekend, according to the mayor.
Public works crews have cleared curbside yard debris from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily since the storm, Mayor Laura Hoydick said Wednesday in a Facebook post. As of Wednesday, all bagged debris was collected, but “significant large debris” remained, which requires the use of payloaders, according to Hoydick.
Last week, Stratford Patch user Victor Oquendo posted photos of two large downed trees, at least one of which was mostly uprooted, noting they had not been removed 10 days after the storm. In addition to downing trees, the storm blocked roads, damaged cars and houses, and caused widespread power outages that, for many, lasted several days.

As of Wednesday, crews were working in the areas west of Nichols Avenue and north of Stratford Avenue, and north of the Merritt Parkway between James Farm Road and Route 110, Hoydick said.
