Summer Reading Champions To Be Honored In Stratford
Mayor Laura Hoydick will recognize Stratford youths at the annual Summer Reading Champion reception.
STRATFORD, CT — (From Town of Stratford): Heading into the second half of summer, Mayor Laura Hoydick is preparing to recognize Stratford youths at the annual Summer Reading Champion reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9 outside the historic Perry House at 1128 West Broad Street.
More than 180 Stratford youths will be honored with a Mayor’s Reading Champion certificate of recognition at the Summer Reading Challenge celebration, where champions will be treated to ice cream sundaes, goodie bags and other surprises.
Families are welcome to stop by any time between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the drop-in event.

Pre-registration is required and can be found here. Registration closes on Aug. 2.
In the past, nearly 2,200 students have read more than 20,500 books to complete the mayor’s reading challenge.

In the event of inclement weather, it will be treated as a walk-through event inside the Baldwin Center.
