Summer Sock Hop Turns Back the Clock
The Baldwin Center plays host to a dance tomorrow night that will feature live oldies music.

The main hall of the Baldwin Center will be "hopping" tomorrow night as the center plays host to its inaugural Summer Sock Hop.
From 5:30 to 8 p.m. Bob Atwood of Atwood Express -- a regular at the senior center -- will perform nostalgic music that spans the 50s, 60s and 70s.
"We tried a couple dances last year and they were quite successful," said Diane Puterski, director of Stratford Senior Services. While last year's dances took place during the day, tomorrow's ball is slated to start in the early evening, she said.
Puterski hopes the later start time will increase attendance as people won't be at work. As of today, 50 people have signed up for Friday's dance, she said.
Admission is $4. For planning purposes, it's recommended to purchase tickets ahead of time. Tickets can be bought at the center (1000 West Broad St.) or over the phone by calling 203.385.4050.
Patrons are encouraged to bring snacks. The center will provide beverage relief.
