Woman Seriously Injured In Stratford Crash: Police

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford woman was seriously injured in a crash on Route 15 in Stratford early Sunday morning, according to Connecticut State Police. Amanda Laprade, 32, of Highland Avenue, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, according to police.

Police said Laprade was traveling on the Exit 53 ramp on Route 15 South just before 6:30 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and it went off the travel portion of the road and struck the wooden beam barrier off the left shoulder.

The vehicle subsequently spun in an uncontrolled manner and struck the wooden beam barrier off the right shoulder before coming to a final rest facing north on the Exit 53 ramp, according to police.

Laprade was extricated from the vehicle and taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital by Stratford EMS with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact state police at 203-696-2500.
