Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • The Assumption College Office of Student Activities has announced that Eva Hogan, of West Suffield, has been elected, and is currently serving, as President of Art Club for the 2017-18 academic year. Art Club is one of nearly 60 clubs and organizations available to students allowing them the opportunity to network with professionals; take on leadership roles; and use classroom knowledge in the community. The Art Club organizes art projects on and off campus, visits to museums and critiques of student work.

Belmont University, Nashville TN

  • Victoria LaTeano of Suffield qualified for the fall 2017 Dean's List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C. Approximately 35 percent of Belmont's 8,080 students qualified for the fall 2017 Dean's List.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • The Eastern Connecticut State University men's and women's soccer teams both had seasons to remember in the fall 2017 semester. Among the students who participated in the soccer program this year was Michele D'Agata of West Suffield, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management. D'Agata is a back. The women, concluding with a record of 9-8-3, continued their streak of excellence, recording its third year in a row of unbeaten Little East Conference play and advancing as far as the LEC championship game.

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT

  • Senior Gabrielle Arruda of West Suffield, of the Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team has earned post-season honors from the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) with a Second-Team All-New England laurel. Arruda capped off the finest statistical campaign of her collegiate career by leading the NE10 throughout the entirety of the season in saves, where she finished with 116, while also collecting four shutouts. She finished off the season ranked 20th in the NCAA in saves as well. She was named to the conference's weekly honor roll three times this season.
