Suffield Girls Capture Team Title at NCCC Cross Country Championships
Seven individual Wildcat girls and boys were named to the All-NCCC team.
Some Suffield High School runners experienced the thrill of victory in the North Central Connecticut Conference cross country championships Saturday at Windsor Locks High School.
Four Wildcats placed in the top nine of the girls’ varsity race, leading Suffield to a team victory with 39 points, 15 ahead of runnerup Canton.
Deana Pileika was the first Wildcat to cross the finish line, placing third. Hanna Englander was fourth, Nina Begley seventh and Katie Baker ninth to make the All-NCCC squad, which goes to the top 15 finishers.

Caitie Kirschbaum just missed making the team, placing 16th.
On the boys’ side, Justin Walch had a solid fourth-place performance to lead Suffield to a third-place finish in team competition. Ryan Cleaves (10th) and Kyle Englander (15th) also turned in impressive runs, making All-NCCC in the process.
