It’s made fun of in movies, other states say we have no accent and city folks flock to it like celebrities to a sushi bar — yes, that little New England gem, Connecticut.
Our state does have loads of curb appeal — from the incredible fall foliage in the hills of Kent to the multi-colored, pastel sunsets at Westport’s Compo Beach, Connecticut is beautiful and charming. But there are a few ”ugly spots” which cause risks, depending on where you live.
Safe Choice Security has put together a list, using data from the 2012 FBI Crime Statistics report, to compile the 4-1-1 on the 20 safest cities to live in Connecticut.

In our area, Suffield ranked #20. Safe Choice Security said this is why:
Suffield is located on the northern end of the state bordering Massachusetts. A smaller town than many of those on our list, it is one of the oldest municipalities in the state. It is a boon for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts. On the bank of the Connecticut River, it is just south of Springfield, MA and has a mountain ridge running through town. Much less expensive than southern parts of the state, the police there are proactive in keeping residents safer than many other areas of Hartford County.
