Twelve employees covering each office of The First National Bank of Suffield were trained and certified in CPR this summer. The training was offered free of charge to employees by the Bank.
“We hope they never have to use their training,” said Bank President Nancy Viggiano. “But we felt it was important for each of our branches to have someone onsite who is prepared to handle a cardiac emergency.”
The training was held at the Suffield Ambulance building on Bridge Street. Two instructors provided training in both CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) use. Upon completing the four-hour course, the twelve employees received their certification.
