UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Suffield
The National Weather Service is predicting stormy weather on Tuesday and there are two more chances for thunderstorms in the forecast.

UPDATE 4:15 P.M.
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Hartford County.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The weather service also updated with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 4:30 p.m. and issued the following:
“DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED OVER NORTHWEST HARWINTON...OR OVER TORRINGTON...AND WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.”

Original post: There is the potential for it to be another stormy day on Tuesday as the National Weather Service has issued “Hazardous Weather Outlooks” and a “Special Weather Statement” for a majority of the state.
The greatest chance for severe weather is predicted for Hartford and Tolland counties.
The National Weather Service writes, “a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. this evening.” The best chance for severe weather is in northern Connecticut, the weather service writes in its early morning advisory.
Damaging wind gusts, hail, heavy rain, and lightning are all possible.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect for northern Fairfield, northern New Haven, and northern Middlesex counties.
There is a chance of thunderstorms producing damaging winds and or large hail this afternoon and early evening, the National Weather Service writes.
For areas along the immediate coastline, southern Fairfield, southern New Haven, and New London counties there is still a chance of severe weather.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible between 11-5, and there is a greater chance of severe weather between 5 p.m. and up until 7 p.m. tonight.
And of course more stormy weather is forecast for Thursday and Saturday.
Here’s the latest Suffield hyperlocal forecast from the National Weather Service:
- Today: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. South wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.
- Wednesday night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Thursday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Thursday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
