The award-winning Connecticut Health Investigative Team is now accepting applications for two week-long summer journalism workshops for high school students.
For the eighth year, C-HIT will host the camps, at Quinnipiac University and the University of Connecticut. The Quinnipiac camp is the week of July 8-12 and the UConn camp the week of July 15-19.
The program gives students an opportunity to develop multimedia, digital journalism and investigative reporting skills in a unique, intensive workshop environment led by local journalists. Students will spend a week on a high-profile university campus, learning the theories and process of journalism by participating in classes led by some of Connecticut’s best journalists, working on various forms of storytelling using state-of-the-art equipment.
Selected students’ work will be published on C-HIT’s site. Scholarships are available for students in need.
Many of our “campers” have gone on to become accomplished journalists, interning at such publications as the Hartford Courant, the New York Times and the Boston Globe.
Information about the camps and an online application can be found at c-hit.org at or this link.
