2nd Suspect Charged In East Lyme Theft: Police
A second woman has been charged in a case involving the theft of $2,000 worth of wire, according to police.
EAST LYME, CT — A second woman has been charged in a case involving the theft of $2,000 worth of wire, according to police. Beverly Turner, 44, of New London, was charged with evading responsibility for injury/property damage, second-degree breach of peace, class D felony conspiracy, misdemeanor conspiracy, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
Two women exited a Flanders Road store with wire valued at $2,000 on Jan. 5, according to police.
A store employee confronted the women as they entered a vehicle in the parking lot. With the rear door open, the employee attempted to hold onto the vehicle as it fled.

One of the women in the car began to kick the employee as he held onto the vehicle. The employee then let go of the vehicle as it left the parking lot.
The two women suspected in this case are also implicated in a similar theft from another shoreline community earlier that day, police said.

Amanda Williams, 37, of Bozrah, was also charged in the case.
Turner was released on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.
