Baby's Death Called 'Suspicious': Police

Police are calling it a ‘suspicious death’ for now after officers discovered an unresponsive and not breathing 14-month-old baby at the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites in Old Saybrook Saturday afternoon, NBC Connecticut reports.

The baby died Sunday evening at an area hospital. Old Saybrook police searched the hotel room and took several items as evidence, NBC CT reports.

Police say the incident is an isolated one and there is no public health risk.
