Bill O'Reilly Story Broken by East Lyme High School Graduate

The reporter who first broke the story of Bill O'Reilly​'s alleged sexual harassments has roots in East Lyme.

EAST LYME, CT - The reporter who first broke the story of settlements involving Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly's alleged sexual harassments has roots in East Lyme, the New London Day reported.

The story was broken by 2002 East Lyme High School graduate Emily Steel, according to the New London Day. Steel has worked for The Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal, and also writes about the media for The New York Times. (To sign up for the Lymes breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Steel worked on the East Lyme High School student newspaper, The Viking Saga, as a high school student, the New London Day reported. She attributed her experience working on that paper as a stepping stone on her path to her current career in journalism.
