Gyms & Other Facilities with Childcare in Southeastern CT

The new year is here and what better a time to get those resolutions rolling and get into shape for the summer swim suit season. But getting a work out in when your a parent can turn out to be harder than it seems. Here is a list of local establishments that offer childcare while you work out.

Jazzercise Niantic Fitness Center
Jazzercise offers a variety of class times, all included in the price of membership. From Monday to Friday, their 9:15 class offers childcare for an additional fee ($2/child, $1/sibling) while you get an hour to yourself to dance those extra holiday pounds off.

Ocean Community YMCA, Mystic
 Whether you want to burn calories while playing with your little one in the pool, or lift some weights alone while they hang out in the kid’s corner, this YMCA location is the place for you. Childcare is included with a family membership, which has many other benefits as well.

Shoreline Fitness, Old Saybrook & Clinton
Childcare is available in this facility’s “kid’s club” during certain hours (call for time) and is included in the price of membership. Non-members can take advantage of the kid’s club for $5.00 an hour.

Stroller Strides, Norwich, Groton, Waterford
Dealing with a little separation anxiety? They stroller stride is for you. Work out while keeping your child nearby in their stroller the entire time. And don’t worry about the weather, the Crystal Mall is utilized as a location during the winter!

WOW! Work Out World, Waterford
 If you are a parent who likes a gym and only needs childcare during a work out occassionally, this is the place for you. Childcare is available by appointment only (must call at least 24 hours ahead) and for an extra fee ($4 for 1 child, $6.50 for 2), so it is a good option to have even if you don’t use it too often.
