Campaign Attempts to Stop Speeding on East Lyme Roads
Visitors and community members are asked to "slow down, enjoy our town."

EAST LYME, CT- A campaign has been started to stop speeding on local roads, as reported by The Day.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of slow driving and encourage residents to slow down for the safety of the community, The Day reported. So far, signs have been put up across town that say “Slow Down, Enjoy Our Town” and “Check Your Speed in Our Village.”
The campaign was established with the fact that many visitors travel to the beaches and boardwalk of Niantic during the summer in mind, and hopes to remind those visitors that there is no place for speeding in the community, according to The Day. There are about 60 signs set up around town so far, with another 20 to be placed soon.
