DEEP to Host Old Lyme Hearing on Shark Plan
The Department of Energy and Environmental Marine Fisheries Commission hopes fishermen and others interested will attend.

OLD LYME, CT- A public hearing will be hosted by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Marine Fisheries Division this month, The Day reported.
The purpose of the hearing is to get input on the Atlantic State Marine Fisheries Commission’s draft management plan for coastal sharks, as well as menhaden, according to The Day. The hearing will take place at DEEP Marine Headquarters next Tuesday, June 28, at 7 p.m.
The plan for coastal sharks is proposed to maintain consistency between state and federal fishery management plans, as well as a couple other objectives, The Day reported. The Department is encouraging fishermen and others that are interested to come out to the hearing and provide input.
