East Lyme Aux. of Child and Family Agency - Calling All Book Club Members
A Conversation between Bestselling Authors-Ann Hood and Michael Ruhlman
Can you remember when and why you first joined a book club? Some of the Auxiliary members in East Lyme have belonged to THE BOOK CLUB for over 25 years. This group seriously discusses the book they have chosen, exploring characters and themes. Some other Auxiliary members in East Lyme recount that their group is more socially oriented, and after about a half hour of discussion, they meander on to personal concerns.
As to why people join book clubs, the members contribute that they like to share opinions, or they see it as a social event, providing support from the exchange of attitudes. If all of these ideas sound familiar, you won’t want to miss A Conversation Between Bestselling Authors- Ann Hood and Michael Ruhlman.
Tickets will include a copy of Ann Hood’s The Book That Matters Most, a book about Book Clubs and their importance in the lives of the participants. What better way to enjoy people who love the written word and want to share it with others! This event will allow you to hear, in person, the author who experienced the enjoyment, support, and comfort that such a group can provide. As these characters choose “The Book That Matters Most” to them, you can share in this reminder of the power of books to inspire lives and to comfort souls.
