East Lyme Resident, Pearl Harbor Survivor Reflects on Attacks

He will be returning to Hawaii for the 75th anniversary of the attacks.

EAST LYME, CT - An East Lyme resident recently took time to reflect on the attacks on Pearl Harbor he witnessed from aboard the USS Maryland, as reported by the Hartford Courant.

Floyd Welch is a 95-year old Pearl Harbor survivor who saw a smoke-filled harbor from the deck of the vessel, according to the Hartford Courant. He remembers hiding under gun turrets when planes came overhead, and will be returning to Hawaii for the 75th anniversary of the attacks.
