East Lyme Residents May Need to Seek Other Options Due to Drought
Ponds and brooks have been drying up, which tends to indicate dry wells.

EAST LYME, CT – While rain over the weekend may have inconvenienced some people, it was not enough to turn around the current drought, News 8 reported.
Ponds have been drying up, including one in the area of Grassy Hill Road, according to News 8. Dry ponds, as well as dry brooks, tend to also indicate dry wells.
Utility engineers are suggesting it may be time for some residents to talk to a well driller and consider digging a deeper well, News 8 reported. Contacting a licensed water hauler to brings portable water to people’s wells is another suggested option.
