Fallen Utility Line Causes East Lyme Brush Fire, 5 Homes Possibly Damaged
The incident caused road closures and prompted response from firefighters and police.
EAST LYME, CT- Fallen utility lines caused a fire Saturday night that resulted in the closure of Giant’s Neck Road at West Main Street, as reported by The Day.
The lines fell on some trees and the resulting power surge caused a brush fire, The Day reported. Though there were no injuries, the incident may have caused damage to four or five homes in the area.
All fires were put out by 10:20 p.m., according to The Day. Firefighters from Niantic and Flanders responded to the scene, in addition to East Lyme police.
