“It’s Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White”

The East Lyme Public Trust Foundation

We have talked about projects outside the Boardwalk that the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation has sponsored, such as the Trees on Hope Street and the Benches at the Main St. Park. In addition, there are many other trees that the group has sponsored.

The Foundation urges people to drive by McCook Park to see the Cherry Trees planted along Columbus Ave. These trees were sponsored by donors and planted by The Promise of Tomorrow’s Trees in partnership with the East Lyme Parks and Recreation Department.

We have called this spot Cherry Lane, after the place where the Darling Family lived in Mary Poppins! In a few years, it will be just as magical. You won’t need to travel to Washington D.C. to see the Kwanza Cherry Trees in Bloom!
