Old Lyme Residents and Businesses Voice Concerns About High Speed Rail Lines
As plans for adding high speed rail lines to Connecticut reach a conclusion, many in Old Lyme are concerned.

OLD LYME, CT – Residents and businesses are growing concerned as plans for adding a high speed rail line to Connecticut are being finalized, Fox 61 reported.
The current plans would see the addition of Amtrak rail lines through the town’s historic district, according to Fox 61. The planned lines have also been cited by residents as impactful on property values, with housing sales already lagging.
Another concern is the new railway needing to tunnel under the Connecticut River, which would disturb a unique estuary, Fox 61 reported. The Connecticut Audubon Society has also cited the town’s marshes near where the tracks would be as one of the most important birding areas on the state.
