Old Lyme Selectmen Reviewing Proposal to Have Additional Resident State Trooper

OLD LYME, CT - Old Lyme selectmen are reviewing proposals to have a second resident state trooper in town, The Day reported.

The Board of Selectmen is reviewing a proposal from Troop F in Westbrook for the town to switch from a system of having only one resident state trooper to two, according to The Day. The town's department currently has six full-time police officers and one resident state trooper.

The proposal suggests the department will operate with four full-time officers and an additional resident state trooper working evenings, The Day reported. While selectmen did not take any action on Tuesday, they are expected to review the data in greater detail.
