Old Lyme Woman Credits ‘Law of Attraction’ for $50,000 Powerball Win

ROCKY HILL, CT – Old Lyme resident Reilly Silvia’s winning experience hit a high point as she recently cashed $50,000 on a Powerball win.

Silvia attributes her good fortune to the Law of Attraction, which states that positive thoughts bring positive experiences.

Her winning numbers drawn on July 23, 2016 were ---- 5 – 7 – 23 – 35 – 39 – Powerball: 11. Silvia matched four numbers and the Powerball number.

“[A ticket checker] said ‘Congratulations!’ Go to CT Lottery.’ I thought I was on a hidden camera show," Silvia said. "I checked it again—thought it wasn’t real...I’m super grateful; it feels surreal.”

Silvia was searching for cameras as the reality sunk in. The happy winner also told Lottery officials that she will donate some of her winnings to charity.

To add coincidence, Silvia had turned 50 just days before she played the Powerball ticket. She claimed her $50,000 prize on her partner’s birthday.

Silvia’s winning ticket was sold at East Hartford Liquors, located on 8 Brewer Street in East Hartford.

The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning a Match 4 + Powerball prize are 1 in 913,129, while odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
