Police Charge 2 In Connection With Jewelry Theft
Stacey Greenwood, 39, and Daniel Occhionero, 39, listed as homeless, were charged in a July jewelry theft from a Niantic shop.
EAST LYME, CT—The case began in late July when police went to a 911 call about a person in need of medical assistance behind the Stop & Shop. What they found was a not a person in need of help, but a woman who they would soon arrest for serial shoplifting.
Stacey Greenwood, 39, whose address was then listed as 6 Brook Road in Niantic, was charged her with sixth-degree larceny for an alleged Stop & Shop rip-off but police said then that further arrests and charges were expected.
Now, Greenwood has been arrested on a warrant connected to a jewelry theft from a Niantic shop. Also charged in connection with the same larceny is Daniel Occhionero, 39. Police said the two are homeless.

Back on July 25, police got an emergency call where it was reported help was needed behind the Stop & Shop. Police and the Flanders Fire Department raced over to the supermarket where they encountered the "involved individuals" who had "no need for medical assistance." What police did find, was a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise stolen from Stop & Shop.
And, police also found items they did not describe that were stolen from another East Lyme business the day before.
