Public Helps East Lyme Police Identify Suspected Thief Within Minutes

EAST LYME, CT -- Within a minute of posting about a suspected thief’s identity on Facebook, police received numerous calls and messages from the public helping identify the suspect.

Police posted Tuesday about a theft that occurred at Stop & Shop on Flanders Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. that day. The suspect was described as a white female with blonde dreadlocks and tattoos on both arms.

The woman was wearing a jean jacket vest with patches. She was suspected of stealing 34 packs of Red Bull drinks, then leaving the area in a grey compact car.

“Thank you for your quick response!” the updated post said.
