Serious Accident on I-95 in Old Lyme Prompts Discussion of Interstate Safety
Some officials believe the highway needs to be straightened out, while some blame driver error.

OLD LYME, CT - In the wake of the serious incident that resulted in a pedestrian’s death last week, state police and other officials are seeking to prevent those types of accidents in the future, News 8 reported.
On Friday, a woman was killed after pulling over to the shoulder of Interstate 95 to check on her child, and police said they are seeing a lot of these types of accidents, according to News 8. East Lyme First Selectman Mark Nickerson said these incidents are always caused by driver error.
State police have since released a YouTube video of two people nearly being hit by a car on the side of the highway, according to News 8. Some officials believe the highway needs to be straightened out in some spots.
