'Noisy' Construction Project set to Begin in Tolland

"Our Contractor has been made aware of the noise ordinance," municipal officials said.

TOLLAND, CT ― Municipal officials on Thursday were giving Tollan d residents a head-up about a"noisy" project that is set to begin.

Beginning on or close to May 10, work will be gin on the Tolland Highway Department garage, 118 Old Post Road.

The first phase of the project is the demolition of a "sizeable portion of the existing garage," which, at times, "may be somewhat noisy," officials said.

During the entire project, there will be increased truck activity because the local Department of Public Works vehicles will be accessing the site via the “salt shed” driveway to avoid the construction taking place in the lower area of the garage.

"Our Contractor has been made aware of the noise ordinance," municipal officials said.

No work has been scheduled before 7 a.m., officials said.
