Propane Leak Prompts Evacuations At Apartment Complex In Tolland (patch.com) — Residents at the Ivy Woods Apartments on Buff Cap Road in Tolland were evacuated Thursday afternoon after officials reported an active propane leak at 86 Buff Cap Road. Tolland firefighters and Connecticut State Police secured the area, maintained a heavy presence through the afternoon, and later confirmed that evacuations were completed and the scene was secure.
   

2. 250 Years Ago This Month: A Tolland Soldier Embarks On A Brave, But Sad Journey (patch.com) — A Revolutionary War story with deep Tolland roots is being remembered this month, 250 years after local soldier Heman Baker began his final journey home. Captured, ill with smallpox, and unable to reach Tolland, he died in East Hartford, where former Tolland officials and residents helped restore his solitary gravesite as a lasting memorial.
   

3. Connecticut town seeks restitution from Kosta Diamantis over school construction project (ctpost.com) — Tolland officials are pushing to have any losses from the $46 million Birch Grove Primary School project included in restitution orders for former state school construction chief Kosta Diamantis. Town Manager Brian Foley says Tolland was pressured into costly decisions and is now reviewing expenses, from management contracts to soil cleanup, to recover taxpayer money and potentially claim part of Diamantis' pension.
   

4. Connecticut man creates game to track spotted lanternfly kills (wfsb.com) — A Tolland resident currently tops the leaderboard in a new online game that tracks how many invasive spotted lanternflies people are killing across Connecticut. Creator Steve Dailey hopes to share the game's data with towns and the state to pinpoint infestation hotspots and better target control efforts. Locals can join in by logging and photographing each bug they squish.
