Tolland to Move $75k from Emergency Storm Fund to Pay for Storm Costs

Town Manager Steven Werbner has moved $75,000 from the Emergency Storm Fund to cover costs related to the onslaught of winter storms.

The town exhausted its salt budget as of Feb. 21 and at that time had 700 tons of salt on hand, according to the March 10 town council agenda.

Overtime accounts in Highway and Parks are overrun by between $2,000 to $5,000.

The total balance of the Emergency Storm Fund is more than $158,000.
