Tolland Wins Tight Game Against South Windsor
The 12-year-old All-Stars inched ahead of South Windsor, 3-2, to advance to the next round.

Tolland’s 12-year-old All-Stars won against South Windsor National, 3-2, in a close game on Tuesday night.
The hottest competition was between the pitchers, Tolland’s Jacob Simon and South Windsor’s Damian Gilnack. Simon and Gilnack both pitched tight games, allowing only three and four hits respectively. Simon and teammate Sean Kelly struck out a combined 11 South Windsor batters. Gilnack and Alexis Goslin were right on their heels, striking out 7 Tolland players.
South Windsor took the lead early on, scoring a run in the first inning. The team furthered its lead with another run in the fifth inning.

Tolland staged its comeback in the bottom of the fifth, tying the score with two runs. Dan Steiner scored the winning run in the sixth inning with a home run.
Cody Ouellette, Matt Curtis, Sean Kelly and Dan Steiner all had hits for Tolland. Ethan Cohn, Tyler Sarra and Brian Leclerc hit for South Windsor.
