The Town of Tolland Recreation Department is accepting applications for part time positions for officiating within the Saturday morning Youth Recreation Basketball Programs. Individuals will be responsible for officiating league games in our High School Recreation Basketball Program. Knowledge of the game of basketball, the rules of basketball, and youth sports is a must.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Have a sincere interest and enthusiasm for team sports and developing these skills in children.
• Knowledge of appropriate sports rules.
• Reviewing officiating educational material.
• Practicing officiating mechanics/signals/positioning/whistling.
• Establish and maintain relationships with volunteers, parents and youth participants.
• Communicate with the Program Coordinator about daily activities of the program, including immediate notification on accidents and/or injuries.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certified Basketball Official
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Running, stretching, jumping and other team sports related movements required.
• Knowledge of appropriate sports rules.
• Other training may be required after employment begins.
• Completion of background check prior to hire.

Pay will be $30.00 per game and is on an as needed basis.  Applications are available in the Town Manager’s Office, Hicks Memorial Municipal Center, 21 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084 or at www.tolland.org under Help Center.  All applications are due back to the Town Manager’s Office.  EOE/AA
