Making Our Mark With Words and Art brings together Nine Artists and Authors to show their work, do readings, signing books, and workshops. Five Points Annex, 15 Water St. Torrington, CT. Perfect opportunity just before Mothers' Day. Opening Reception May 8th 5-8 PM On exhibit Thursday May 7 through Sun. May 17 Wed. - Sun. 12-4 PM.

Cheryl Martinelli will be available during the opening to discuss her meaningful photographic images and thoughtful words. Wellness practices and finding the beauty in nature are the concentrations of author and photographer Cheryl Martinelli’s work.

Temperance Croce, illustrator of Ollie’s Pet Rescue will be available for signing.

May 9 at 2:00 PM A special workshop with Joan Kantor,Fantastic Ekphrastics. Explore the inspired connection between visual art and word art (ekphrasis)Joan will share poems inspired by works of art and you will have the opportunity to write a short art inspired poem of your own.

Sun. May 10 at 12PM - 1:30PM sign up for ‘Partnership Painting’, Bring a partner, spend an hour or so to Lori Barker’s workshop and see how much fun collaborative art can be! $50 for the 2 of you ($40 if no partner) All materials provided to turn a 16”X20” blank canvas into a work of art that will astonish you and your partner! May 14,Kimberly Haidinger 12-4 PM meet the author and book signing A Kid’s Guide to Climate Activism is the debut title in a passion project co-created by mother-daughter duo Kimberly Haidinger and Luna Hansen.Determined to move beyond passive observation, they developed this series to equip middle graders with the "superpower" of language.

May 16 Suzanne Kirschner will be on hand. She is an abstract artist. Most of her works are non-object and focus on line. Suzanne works in a variety of media: acrylic, oil, ink, and photography.

May 17 at 1 PM Joan will do readings from several of her award-winning books of poetry.
