TSTA students in grades 7-12 will present Meredith Willson's The Music Man on May 7, 8, and 9 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium on the new 7-12 school campus.&nbsp; This show is a family-friendly classic with music and message that can be shared across generations.&nbsp; Starring senior Nathan Pepler at the smooth-talking con man Harold Hill who is taken in by the town's librarian, Marian, played by junior Olivia Beauregard, this show features classic songs such as "76 Trombones" and "'Til there Was You". Making Our Mark With Words and Art brings together Nine Artists and Authors to show their work, do readings, signing books, and workshops. Five Points Annex, 15 Water St. Torrington, CT. Perfect opportunity just before Mothers' Day. Opening Reception May 8th 5-8 PM On exhibit Thursday May 7 through Sun. May 17 Wed. - Sun. 12-4 PM.
Cheryl Martinelli will be available during the opening to discuss her meaningful photographic images and thoughtful words. Wellness practices and finding the beauty in nature are the concentrations of author and photographer Cheryl Martinelli’s work.
Temperance Croce, illustrator of Ollie’s Pet Rescue will be available for signing.
May 9 at 2:00 PM A special workshop with Joan Kantor,Fantastic Ekphrastics. Explore the inspired connection between visual art and word art (ekphrasis)Joan will share poems inspired by works of art and you will have the opportunity to write a short art inspired poem of your own.

May 10 at 12PM - 1:30PM sign up for ‘Partnership Painting’, Bring a partner, spend an hour or so to Lori Barker’s workshop and see how much fun collaborative art can be! $50 for the 2 of you ($40 if no partner) All materials provided to turn a 16”X20” blank canvas into a work of art that will astonish you and your partner! Come with a child, a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, or a friend. There’s only one rule: expect to have fun! May 16 Suzanne Kirschner will be on hand. She is an abstract artist. Most of her works are non-object and focus on line. Suzanne works in a variety of media: acrylic, oil, ink, and photography.

May 29-31Ed Stevens hopes to be of service in his role as a retreat leader. His recovery retreats are centered around the guiding questions: “Where am I—in relation to God, to myself, and to the world?”
In his work, he explores themes such as unmanageability and faith, the violence within ourselves and how it manifests in the world, intimacy and emotional sobriety, and forgiveness as a path toward bringing loving-kindness into the world through the 12 Steps.
Throughout the retreat, Ed weaves his personal experience in recovery through the steps of AA, while drawing on the teachings of Richard Rohr, Joan Chittister, Thomas Keating, and Bill Wilson.
