Trager notes that he photographs architecture from an aesthetic viewpoint and has been shooting for more than 45 years.  He is a a Connecticut native and one of the foremost photographers of architecture and dance of the twentieth century. In fact, Trager travelled to all 169 towns in Connecticut over a two year period to photograph architecture throughout the state. Some of his work now serves as historic documentation of Connecticut architecture in the 1970’s.

Later in his career, Trager turned to the subject of dancers in outdoor settings with natural light. His expressionistic photographs have expanded the genre of dance photography worldwide. Settings in Connecticut for his work include the campus of Fairfield University, Sherwood Island beach and the Reservoir in Easton.
