In part it is instigated by an ever growing imbalance in the ability for society to understand and interpret basic right from wrong. We have created more complex issues and laws in government, in states, in communities, and in social networks. Lines of fundamental morality are blurred, and unethical behavior accepted as a normal baseline of measurement. It has become a slippery slope. Our 'one size fits all' answers to problems often become vague, and muddy.
So where do we go from here? How do we protect and balance our liberty, while keeping the safety of society in check? Would delegating and instituting more local power allow for local government and nonprofits to customize solutions and build stronger, more balanced communities? Or should we continue to ‘shoehorn’ the same solutions to fit every foot?
