Coronavirus Leads Trumbull To Lay Off 30 Town Employees
Their jobs couldn't be performed from home, so the town laid them off.

TRUMBULL, CT — The town of Trumbull laid off 30 part-time employees last week. Their jobs couldn't be done by home due the coronavirus shutdown, said First Selectman Vicki Tesoro.
Tesoro said the decision was hard, but financially prudent, according to the Trumbull Times. The workers will be able to collect unemployment benefits.
Tesoro is also working to reduce the proposed town budget. The budget has to be approved by the Board of Finance, but changes can be made by the Town Council before heading back to Tesoro for final approval.
