Former Trumbull Cop Charged With Sex Assault
Former Officer Michael Gonzalez was additionally charged with sexual assault. He had previously been arrested.

TRUMBULL, CT — Prosecutors have added a sexual assault charge against former Trumbull cop Michael Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was charged with third-degree sexual assault Friday, according to the Trumbull Times. No additional details were released in court regarding the circumstances behind the charge.
Gonzalez resigned from the department in October 2018. He was arrested following two domestic incidents that involved a fellow female officer. He was granted a pretrial diversionary program, Officer Kaitlyn Arcamone had charges against her nolled and she was fired by the department.

State Police arrested Gonzalez in June after he allegedly used a police database to track down the girl, according to an arrest warrant. The teenage girl's mother contacted police and said that Gonzalez had sexually assaulted her daughter.
State Police would have charged Gonzalez with fourth-degree sex assault, but the statute of limitations had run out by the time the incident was reported, according to an arrest warrant.
