Former Trumbull Cop Granted Court Program After Arrest

A Trumbull officer who resigned will have criminal charges dropped against him if he completes the program.

TRUMBULL, CT — Former Trumbull Police Officer Michael Gonzalez, 40, was granted a pretrial program following two domestic violence arrests that involved a female officer.

Gonzalez retired from the department with benefits. Female officer Kaitlyn Arcamone was fired, according to Trumbull Police Commission meeting minutes.

Gonzalez was granted a pretrial diversionary program that will lead to charges against him being dismissed in a year so long as he doesn't violate a protective order that Arcamone has against him, according to the Trumbull Times.

Gonzalez was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct for a Stratford incident that occurred in March while Arcamone was charged with disorderly conduct. He was charged with violation of a protective order in July after he allegedly left a birthday card on Arcamone's vehicle while she was working out at a gym, but the charge was dismissed.
