Herbst: Malloy Is Robbing Trumbull
Herbst said that Gov. Malloy's newest education cost sharing plan punishes well-managed towns.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Tim Herbst reacted sharply to Gov Dannel Malloy's plan to entirely cut education cost sharing funding for Trumbull along with 84 other municipalities.
"It would be unconscionable for Gov. Malloy to rob funds from the education of students in towns like Trumbull in order to bail out the irresponsibility of insiders in Hartford," Herbst said.
Herbst is also a Republican candidate for governor.

Herbst said Malloy's plans are misguided; while towns will suffer current and former elected officials receive generous benefits.
"In Trumbull we have a nationally recognized school system and remarkable student achievement," Herbst said, "but all Gov. Malloy sees are dollars to be robbed to keep the status quo humming."
