Herbst Won't Take Lobbyist Contributions
Herbst vowed now to take registered lobbyist contributions as he seeks state office.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Tim Herbst announced that he wouldn't seek or accept registered lobbyist contributions as he seeks state office.
"I won't dance around this issue with gimmicks or distractions, I will not accept contributions from lobbyists in this campaign," he said. "I call on any Republican considering a bid for statewide office to do the same. For far too long out-of-touch legislators and a reckless governor have catered to the well-connected special interests in our state while struggling workers, families and businesses have suffered."
Herbst formed an exploratory committee for state office earlier this year, including a possible gubernatorial run.
