A girl who suffered a concussion after being hit in the head with a tennis ball during gym class at Trumbull High School was awarded $900,000 by a jury.
Kristen Sileo, now 21, was only 14 when she was hit in the head during a game of “tennis/baseball” where students essentially played baseball with tennis rackets, according to the Connectiuct Post.
Sileo suffered a concussion and now has concentration and memory problems. She sued, alleging that the Board of Education and gym teacher Melindya Mickool were negligent.
