Police ID Trumbull Homeowner Killed In Tree Cutting Incident: PD
Police have identified a man who was killed in a tree cutting incident in Trumbull this week.
TRUMBULL, CT — A man who was killed in a tree cutting incident Wednesday in Trumbull has been identified by the Trumbull Police Department.
In a news release Friday morning, Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said police officers and EMS were called to a White Plains Road home around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a tree cutting accident that resulted in the death of the homeowner, who was identified in the release as 66-year-old Javier Valdovinos.
According to Falkenstein, police and EMS arrived at the home within minutes of receiving the 911 call and tried to treat Valdovinos, who had sustained severe injuries.

"Unfortunately, it was quickly determined that [Valdovinos] had succumbed to his injuries prior to their arrival," Falkenstein wrote in a news release.
According to Falkenstein, a preliminary investigation indicates Valdovinos was cutting a large tree limb when he became trapped between the limb and the tree.

Two other residents were home at the time of the incident and immediately contacted 911, Falkenstein said.
No other injuries were reported.
Falkenstein said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
A portion of White Plains Road was closed for a short period of time after the incident to allow emergency personnel to safely remove parts of the tree from the road and surrounding area, Falkenstein said.
