Town Provides Updates On Plowing, Snow Removal In Trumbull
The town has provided some key updates following a heavy snowstorm that impacted the region Sunday into Monday.
TRUMBULL, CT — As Connecticut residents work to clear snow from their driveways following a massive snowstorm that impacted the region Sunday into Monday, town officials said Trumbull was overall "very successful" in keeping roads passable during the storm.
On Tuesday, Chief Administrative Officer Kathleen McGannon told Patch crews had been working since Sunday at 9 a.m., with several crews having come in at 3 a.m.
"They have been working around the clock during this storm and will be sent home in a few hours," McGannon said around 5 p.m. in a email to Patch.

According to McGannon, roads were clear as of Tuesday evening and parking lots and sidewalks "are being managed."
About 27 plow trucks, as well as foremen who have plows on their pickup trucks, are estimated to have been on the roads in Trumbull during peak operations Sunday and Monday, McGannon said.

"The winter has proven difficult for maintaining salt storage for towns, and Trumbull is carefully managing its salt supply," McGannon said.
McGannon also recommended residents be patient, stay home and manage snow removal from their personal properties responsibly.
"If you can stay off the roads, it will be a great help to the crews to finish opening the full width of the roads," McGannon said. "If you must go out, please be aware that some roads may be narrower than usual and please proceed with caution. Also, do not plow snow from your driveway into the road. Please clear fire hydrants if one is on your property and be advised that the parking ban is currently still in effect."
In a message from the town's Parks and Public Works departments posted Monday to the town website, officials said cleanup from this weekend's storm will take some time due to the duration of the storm and the accumulation of snow that needs to be moved.
"We ask your cooperation and patience as we undertake clearing roads, parking lots, and sidewalks," the message reads. "Our crews have worked tirelessly since [Sunday] morning to keep things clear during a difficult storm. If you are able to stay in place today, it will be extremely helpful to our crews as they work to make all roads clear and safe for travel. If you must go out, please remember that the roads are not as open or as wide as usual. Please be extra cautious traveling."
Trumbull officials also noted a town parking ban remains in effect of of Monday until further notice.
