Democrat Vicki Tesoro said she believes the current senior center should be renovated, partially with a state grant meant to upgrade its kitchen, according to the Trumbull Times. Republican Paul Lavoie said the project should be delayed until more is known about how the state budget will affect Trumbull.
Trumbull is set to lose $3.4 million in education cost sharing funds under Gov. Dannel Malloy's latest executive action, which would go into effect in October. The loss could be reduced if the legislature passes a budget.
