Trumbull IT Director: Herbst Told Me To Delete Emails

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull's IT director told the Freedom of Information Commission that former First Selectman Tim Herbst had asked him to delete government records.

Bill Chin appeared at a commission meeting and was asked directly by Herbst himself if any government official had asked him to delete information from the town's electronic archive system, according to the Trumbull Times.

Chin went on to say that Herbst asked him to delete emails before he left office, but that he didn't comply with the request. Herbst later denied asking Chin to delete anything from the archive system.
