Trumbull Officers Honored For Saving Life Of Crash Victim
Honored at special ceremony last week at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport.

TRUMBULL — Under most circumstances, the horrific accident last November on Daniels Farm Road would have killed the teenage male trapped in the wreckage.
But these were not normal circumstances, as Trumbull police officers Edward Bachiocchi and Caitlin Murphy used a mix of quick thinking, good training and old-fashioned heroism to jump in the wrecked vehicle and, essentially, save the life of the young driver.
Last week, the two heroes were honored with Emergency Medical Services Awards at a special ceremony at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, according to a town bulletin posted on the Town of Trumbull's website Wednesday.

Late in the evening of Nov. 6, 2021, the duo was nearby when the crash happened on Daniels Farm Road.
"Within minutes, the two officers pulled a 19-year-old driver from the wreckage, administered CPR, and applied an AED unit that twice delivered an electrical shock to restart the driver’s heart," reads the town bulletin.
"Despite his critical injuries, the driver survived, primarily due to the rapid medical intervention provided by the officers."
