DUI Arrest
A Monroe man was arrested on DUI charges after a witness reported he was driving erratically, according to police.

A witness told police that a car was driving erratically in the area of Main Street and Church Hill Road Dec. 21 around 6 p.m. The car had crossed the double yellow line several times, the witness told police.
Officers pulled the car over and operator Bill Gouveia, 64, failed field sobriety tests, police said. His blood-alcohol level was measured at .08 and .07.

He was charged with DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Trespassing
A Trumbull man was charged with burglary and trespassing after he was found in an apartment after being evicted, police said.
An employee went to the Royce apartment to make sure it was properly vacated Dec. 30 and found Christopher Shakespeare, 47 inside with his belongings, police said. Shakespeare refused to leave and police were called.
There was no evidence that he forced entry and officers believe he managed to gain access through a sliding side door, police said. He was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass.
Macy's Theft
A Patterson, NJ resident was charged with stealing $763 worth of items from Macy's on Dec. 22. Jose Marte, 20, was found with the items along with other unpaid items from JCPenney, but JCPenney didn't want to press charges, police said. He was charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Bad Check
Jennifer Voight, 34, of Trumbull was charged with issuing a bad check to a moving company for $1,800, police said. The check had bounced in June and she never paid the company, according to police. She was arrested Dec. 20
